A RESEARCH ON THE HEALTH STATUS OF UNDERGRADUATES

Abstract

|
This research was attempted for the understanding of the health conditions of undergraduates in Taegu City and their management of everyday health. A total of 1,192 students were questionai red in the month of June, 1978. The questionaire, to which the Cornell Medical Index had been applied, contained 18 items ----- 12 on the parts of the body and 6 on mental symptoms. The number of mental complaints slightly exceeded that of physical ones. Among the physical complaints the highest was on the digestive system(4.1%) and the respiratory organs and nerve system Were 3.1% and 2.7% respectively while muscles and bones marked the lowest rate(0.7%). The most remarkable symptom of mental complaints was maladaptation(4.1%) while the lowest was hypochondria(1.6%).
